LOTUS, also powered by SENNA.

The evocative combination of a Senna in the black and gold colours of Lotus Renault was revived on Monday when Brazilian Bruno Senna was presented as the Formula One team's reserve driver.
The 27-year-old's late uncle Ayrton was a winner for the old Renault turbo-powered Lotus team, running in the black and gold livery of a cigarette company, in the 1980s before moving on to McLaren and becoming a triple champion.

INTERLOCKED, are we?

The Hindu Sangam was SHOCKED and has taken the necessary civilised action to reach a more amicable solution.

It will engage, meet, discuss and draw a memorandum for the Prime Minister’s consideration.

It’s totally a wise decision for the issue at hand to be opened for discussion (by genuine NGOs and other non-political organisation and individuals).

Presently it is an issue that is being abused beyond recognition, mostly by those without first hand information.

Its clear now that the ugly side of politics has got the better of the core issue. There is no restraint whatsoever, even while the merits of the case is/was being deliberated.

So far the arguments have been blinded by politics, a lack of understanding of the system of caste that stands in the eye of the minor storm, and the extreme views and ultimatums by an unrestrained lot which includes politicians.

Don’t abuse politics and issue ultimatums as there should never be a political solution for the issue at hand.

Clearly, a political solution would lead towards further abuse of contentious social and historic facts. Facts which show who and what we are.

Nothing will be “not sensitive” if there lies a hidden agenda … the political agenda.

INTERLOCKED are we?

p/s  To state or suggest (in a provocative sub-heading) that the 'Gov't ignores Indians' sensitivities' is not only utter rubbish but more a dirty mischief.

Grand Conspiracy ... the Enemy Within ?

It has been almost a year since Kulim Bandar Baru Member of Parliament and ex-Anwar Ibrahim confidante Zulkifli Noordin exposed an evil pact to tarnish the Prime Minister's image by linking him and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor to the murder of Mongolian national Altantuya Sharibu.

For the record, Zulkifli was the lawyer for one of the accused in the murder but withdrew after being pestered by a 'third party' to fabricate evidence to implicate Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife to the murder.

Zulkifli's expose came as a shock to many but at that point of time the firebrand politician had refused to reveal the identities of those who had directed or rather ordered him to commit the evil act. It is public knowledge now that Zulkifli had later sought a meeting with Najib and set the records straight. It is believed that he had exposed the hidden hands who wanted to prevent Najib from leading the government at any cost.

Following Zulkifli and another PKR turned Independent MP, Datuk Seri Zahrain Hashim's revelations of the grand conspiracy, the conspirators were stunned and almost immediately stopped harping on or linking Najib to the murder.

But it seems, after almost a year now, the desperate conspirators are at it again and have begun spinning the same lies in Tenang (Labis-Johor) where campaigning for a by-election kicks off today.

Zahrain, in his latest blog posting HERE claims that there are fresh efforts to spin the same lies aimed at halting the growing support for the Prime Minister and ruin his efforts to unite the rakyat.

If we listen to Zulkifli's revelation in the above video recording carefully, the delicate evil plan was not only to demonise Najib and his wife but was also aimed at systematically demolishing all vital institutions that formed the pillar of the administration.

The credibility of these institutions are to be crushed to de-stabilise the Government and its leadership.

The targets were the Malay Rulers, the Royal Malaysian Police, the Judiciary, the Attorney General's Chambers, the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission and individuals leading these institutions.

Zulkifli says it loud and clear that the pattern or game plan of the concerted evil acts were similar to those which resulted in the deadly May 13, 1969 racial clashes.

The question now is has any of these subversive acts been put to rest or are the culprits still moving with their ill-conceived agenda to ruin this nation?

It seems that the attacks on the vital institutions and personalities have not subsided although some institutions have had a change of leaders.

Some recent newspaper reports and blog posts have been rather disturbing, particularly that which questioned the credibility and allegiance of those purportedly serving the best interest of this nation and her people.

I hope that the relevant authorities, if need be the Prime Minister himself, take a closer look at these reports as the last thing we want at this point of time is to have parasites and subversive elements within our vital institutions.

An enemy within is the last thing we need, now and forever.

p/s Watch the video above again and THINK!

Change for CHANGE

Everybody seems to be clamouring for change.

But are we giving anyone the chance to change or have we been creating the necessary environment for change?

Change appears to be a confrontational matter in our country when in fact it is happening all around us. Some among us just don’t realise it.

If you just take a minute and objectively evaluate the changes we have gone through, however gradual they may be, the nation of Malaysia has transformed.

You could sincerely and apolitically evaluate if we have gone from bad to worse or otherwise.

I feel very strongly that we have developed quite well in the face of the crazy pace of global changes. In fact we are or were at one time or another leading the global change in many fields.

Malaysia was a progressive nation, the leader of the pact so to say, just lest than a decade ago.

Due to umpteen reasons and global situations, topped by our change of leadership in 2003, progress was uncharted or veered from our development blueprint.

We were not even drifting but were sliding backwards for a couple of years.

Like the good things in life, bad things too don’t last and we went through another change in leadership courageously despite being badly bruised in the “government popularity” test of 2008.

The new leader is an experienced politician with decades of experience in both the government and politics. An “industrial economist” by training and the son of a former Prime Minister by nature.

An aristocrat he might be but the Prime Minister of today has been part of the formulating team, witnessed the changes and is now carrying on with the transformation that the nation needs.

The needs of course change with the times too.

The specific changes that we as a diverse Malaysian society need and could be better of with cannot possibly be formulated overnight.

We cannot just duplicate “change’ from another society and be wanting to impose their norms on our society. Our fabric is different from others. No other nation in this whole wide world is another Malaysia.

But we want to change. We want to be better than today or if possible tomorrow. We want to regain our lead in the region and be the voice of reason for mankind. We want to be part of each and every NGO that promotes change.

We, going by the expectations of a few politicians, must be the first to change without any consideration to the fabric of our society even.

So, we want to change badly and we want it now. But what are we doing to support and initiate change amidst us, the multiracial, multi-religious sons (and daughters) of the soil?

Why are some among us so keen to make “Change” a controversial matter and link it to the need to overthrow the government of the day? Has this government not changed for the better?

We all have disagreements here and there and we must admit that there are serious flaws in many aspects of our government or the way some tentacles are being operated.

Action is much overdue in some aspects, for instance in tackling the dilemma of the urban poor. Migration and development (also two aspect of change) resulted in a ballooning urban poor and the government must find a quick solution to this change brought about by change.

The room for the Government to transform and further improve itself is indisputable and vast, and the government has no choice.

I would like to believe that the present leadership has recognised the need for us to transform at a faster pace to achieve Vision 2020 or Wawasan 2020.

We are at least moving much faster than the doomed years from 2004 to 2008. The Government has rolled out specific plans and road maps to accelerate our change and transformation.

Handling the downsides of change like the worrying crime rate in urban centres and new growth areas is a great task on its own. Maintaining security and public order is vital and that sucks in hundreds of millions of Ringgit every year.

Annually billions of Ringgit are allocated and spent to provide all kinds of infrastructure, from the basic water, electricity, road and telecommunication to the high-end fibre-optic broadband service and super highways.

While billions of Ringgits are spent to improve rural areas, rural folks are increasingly awed by the fast pace and seemingly easy luxuries of urban life. They move in droves and those who don’t make it land in urban slump.

Balancing change and its effects on our society is paramount as positive change itself.
So, is the Government of Malaysia against change?

Why is change being turned into a war-cry and the minds of the young polluted with misplaced perceptions churned out by political parties with vested interests?

Are we being hijacked or trying to be hijacked by those who have earlier hijacked change and turned it into a ‘dirty’ word?

Younger generation Malaysians, most importantly, need to ask this questions and look around them for a fair judgement. Keep your emotions and politics in the closet for a day.

Accusing others is an age-old tactic of diversion.

This is evident in political parties and leaders who have been hogging on and in fact stand as a stumbling block for change.

Even the Communist Party in China has changed its leaders and they way they embrace change.

Change cannot be drastic and it cannot happen overnight. Many nations that went on the other path have learned the bitter lesson. Just compare China and Russia, its crystal clear if you care to take a closer look.

Change is not a bad, it’s the dirty politics of change that is threatening to drag us down.

I don’t understand why we need to change the Government, especially when that specific change is being promoted and drummed into the society by those who haven’t changed themselves.

Change before calling for change, for change is for all. Work together for positive change that is free from divisive politics.

Let’s change Malaysia the way we want it and not the way some foreign concept of change requires us to.

Let’s Change.

Tone it Down - Dr.M tells Rocky and Rais.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the foremost blogger in the country, has sent out word to both prominent blogger Datuk Rocky Bru and Minister Datuk Seri Rais Yatim to tone down their squabble and leave the matter at hand to the authorities.

It was learned that the former Prime Minister thinks both Rocky Bru and Rais had said what they needed to say and if there were any wrongdoings, the respective authorities are already looking into it.

Che Det had made it clear that prolonging the squabble would be of no gain to either party, plus not positive to the image of the government.

Rais was a member of Dr Mahathir’s Cabinet who survived the Badawi cabinet despite his sometimes strong views against the 5th Prime Minister.

Rocky is often described as a Mahathir ally. Backed by Umno bloggers who are Mahathir loyalists, notably Big Dog, Rocky has launched a series of postings attacking Rais since October, after the Minister had lodged a police report on Rocky for his posting calling for greater transparency at Rais’ ministry.

Several parties, including Umno leaders, have attempted to bring together the warring parties but without success.

Rocky’s last posting related to Rais was published here ... on a police investigation into a maid rape scandal, which Rais has refuted.

Big Dog is expected to be called in by the police soon.

Unbecoming ADUN of DAP

The YouTube recording below shows the unruly behaviour of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's POLITICAL SECRETARY cum Komtar state assemblyman Ng Wei Aik.

Ng Wei Aik exposed his true self during the Municipal Council's raid at a popular Nasi Kandar outlet last week.

His thuggery is evident from the recording below. Since when did we assign a state assemblyman to confiscate and carry cooking gas cylinders from premises raided by the enforcement authorities?

The 'thuggery promoting' POLITICAL SECRETARY of the DAP Secretary General has also been accused of uttering racal slurs against the owner/employee of the Nasi Kandar outlet.

He reportedly told Mohamad Aliyar and Syed Kassali Mohamed Aliyar to 'Tutup Kedai, Balik India".

Is this the brand of administration/politics that the DAP in particular dan PR in general are clamouring for ?

Nobody could possibly do anything to stop such tyranny in Pulau Pinang now as the DAP kingdom has been given a free hand to RULE.

Lim Guan Eng appears like an unassailable King (heard his younger sister has also slipped into Penang Dap recently).

The rest are all powerless, thus the need to show their power to the masses.

p/s Guan Eng, any investigations into your Political Secretary's unbecoming behaviour, or was that also part of your slippery politics?

Silent Tiger and the Slayer's salient points.

By SHAMSUL AKMAR:
The taming of the Tiger of Jelutong

IT is widely accepted that Blake had immortalised tigers while Kipling demonised Lunghri, the lame tiger, in the Jungle Book.

The question is, how would Malaysia's Tiger of Jelutong fare, having built a stellar reputation, at least among opposition supporters, in the nation's political scene?

Karpal Singh's integrity, credibility, value system and even morality are under scrutiny.
But, first, the issue needs to be put in perspective.

In 1997, less than a year before Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was sacked as the deputy prime minister and Umno deputy president, Karpal, according to several members of parliament and high-profile politicians, had publicly declared that he had evidence that the former had committed sodomy.

According to Karpal's one-time colleague in DAP, Wangsa Maju member of parliament Wee Choo Keong, the former had uttered the allegations against Anwar at a DAP gathering in Federal Hotel.
Another MP, Datuk Zahrain Mohd Hashim of Bayan Baru, had also exposed that Karpal had made such allegations in Parliament as contained in the Hansard of Oct 22, 1997.

Then, there's Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, previously a Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) shining star but now described by Karpal as inconsequential, had also raised the point about Karpal's allegations against Anwar.

A lawyer just like Wee, Zaid had described Karpal as an ular (snake), obviously intending to point out that Karpal spoke with forked tongue in the issue of Anwar's sodomy.

Not to be ignored is MP for Kulim-Bandar Baru, Zulkifli Nordin, another lawyer, who also questioned Karpal's motives of being a defence counsel for Anwar when he himself had accused Anwar of committing sodomy.

Muslim Lawyers Association president Zainul Rijal Abu Bakar had called for an investigation into Karpal's remarks on Anwar's alleged sodomy.

Looking at the list, Karpal's detractors are not only politicians but they are also trained lawyers. This leads to the question of not only whether Karpal has any moral integrity when he decided to defend Anwar after having publicly accused him of committing the act but also his professional ethics.

The silence on the part of the Bar Council on Karpal's antics is deafening, giving credence to the perception that it is sympathetic if not outright supporter of the opposition and not justice.

No doubt, every accused person deserves a defence counsel of his choice.

But, surely, if the counsel had publicly accused his client of a certain crime and then go to court to defend him of the said crime, the counsel would have to first make a public announcement that his earlier accusations were baseless.

No doubt Karpal has argued the fact that Anwar had engaged him meant the latter had confidence in him. It can then be argued that Anwar had engaged him so that Karpal would then stop making the accusations against him in public.

If Karpal publicly admits now that the accusations he made against Anwar in 1997 are baseless, he may be able to redeem himself in continuing as Anwar's counsel.

However, it raises the issue of him being an untruthful politician as he had publicly tried to convince the people of Anwar's sexual wrongdoings.

The fact that he said he had evidence in his hand, and later admitting that he made such allegations after meeting Azizan Abu Bakar and Ummi Hafilda, the star prosecution witnesses in Anwar's first sodomy trial, meant that he was convinced by their testimonies.

And, based on that, he wanted the government, then helmed by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, to act against Anwar.

Then, when the government and Dr Mahathir finally acted on Anwar based on those allegations by sacking him, Karpal decided to be the champion to defend Anwar.

Even if professionally it is allowed for Karpal to act as such and not found to be unethical, surely by any moral barometer, such conduct is highly questionable.

But who is going to judge Karpal for what he has done and his conduct over the Anwar case?

The opposition supporters do not seem perturbed by the issue.

Pas, the self-professed moral guardians of Muslims in Malaysia, too, does not find what Karpal has done as something of concern.

Its MP for Kota Baru, Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah, was so "inspired" by the DAP chairman that he announced at a Pakatan Rakyat convention that anyone intending to go against Karpal would have to "step over his dead body".

Wan Rahim's pronouncement came as a surprise, given that Karpal's uncompromising stand over Pas' Islamic state concept and had once used similar words -- "over my dead body" -- when Pas spoke about setting up an Islamic state.

That being the case, the Tiger of Jelutong seems likely to be spared by the opposition.

Or, maybe, they have accepted him to be a toothless tiger, whose growl is louder than his bite.

So, they humour him.

Khusrin's appointment: Palace hits out at S'gor leaders over misleading and inaccurate statements

PETALING JAYA: The Selangor palace has hit out at state leaders, who had made inaccurate, misleading and treacherous statements over the appointment of new state secretary Datuk Mohd Khusrin Munawi.
The palace singled out statements made by Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, Sri Muda assemblyman Shuhaimi Shafiei, state speaker Datuk Teng Chang Khim, and Kampung Tunku assemblyman Lau Weng San.
It described as inaccurate the statement made by Khalid that the Sultan of Selangor did not have the power to accept or reject candidates nominated by the Public Service Commission.
The Sultan’s private secretary Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani also lambasted Seri Muda assemblyman Shuhaimi for making an offensive remark in his blog on Dec 30 describing the Sultan as “beraja di mata, bersultan di hati (King in the eye, Sultan at heart)”.
He said such a statement could be construed as warning the Sultan, and inciting the rakyat to hate the Sultan.
He also pointed out a news article on Dec 29 quoting Lau as saying that the appointment of the state secretary need not be made by PSC.
Munir clarified that for Selangor, the appointment was under the purview of the Federal civil service commission.
He also pointed out that Teng could not convene an emergency state assembly meeting without the consent of the Sultan.
He said this in response to Teng’s claim on Tuesday that an emergency state assembly meeting could be convened without the consent of the Sultan. - TheStar

Updated circa 2145hrs

"Selangor palace has hit out at state leaders, who had made inaccurate, misleading and treacherous statements over the appointment of new state secretary Datuk Mohd Khusrin Munawi.
The palace singled out statements made by Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, Sri Muda assemblyman Shuhaimi Shafiei, state speaker Datuk Teng Chang Khim, and Kampung Tunku assemblyman Lau Weng San."

We have a situation at hand where the Kurang Ajar Menteri Besar of a state government and some of his fellow elected representative's kurang ajar-ness, has angered the Supreme Ruler of the State of Selangor.

Treachery is by no means a small matter and its is exactly what, among other kurang ajar-ness, which the Sultanate of Selangor has decried in a not so subtle statement earlier today. ( Full text below)

In the meantime umpteen police reports have been lodged against the very same 'treacherousness' of this new movement led by the Menteri Besar.

Many believe that Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim is merely a puppet in the game of certain puppeteers but that is another front all together.

This is the first time in recent history that such a strong statement is made by the Sultan of a state against his No:1 servant.

Guess that calls for definite and urgent investigations by the concerned authorities and institutions to ensure respect for the Malay Rulers are not eroded.

This is not a constitutional crisis as some may want to paint it. This is about simple plain acts of gross disrespect for the Royal Institution. Its treachery of the highest order.

How else could you describe the acts of a Menteri Besar who dare twist and turn the words of the SULTAN whom he had just met and consulted half an hour earlier?

Blogger BigDog says it again (he said it earlier yesterday).

Well, I guess the police for a start might want to study the reports and detain those named by the Selangor Sultanate for a quick investigation.

House arrest would do for some.

Being a straightforward case, I'm sure the learned Attorney General would be able to frame appropriate charges in a matter of weeks.

CHARGE them and put a stop to such acts of Treachery or risk greater provocation in future.

p/s Please put the fire out!

KENYATAAN AKHBAR
Raja Muda Selangor sempena Ulang Tahun Hari Keputeraan Yang Ke-65 D.Y.M.M.
Mengulas mengenai kenyataan akhbar Y.A.B.
Mengenai cadangan Y.A.B. Dato’ Menteri Besar untuk berbincang dengan JPA atau SPA, D.Y.M.M. Sultan Selangor sebenarnya telah menitahkan sepatutnya Y.A.B. Tindakan Y.A.B.

Datuk Seri Rais Yatim, PLEASE come clean!

Rais: Who, me?
Prominent UMNO stalwart allegedly raped his housemaid in 2007 but wasn't investigated

The latest round of WikiLeaks cables to embarrass Malaysia alleges that a "VVIP" later identified as Rais Yatim, the Information, Communications, and Culture Minister, raped his Indonesian maid in 2007, but got away with it because then-Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi apparently didn't want an embarrassing confrontation with the Indonesian government.

The 68-year-old Rais at the time was law minister in Badawi's cabinet. He has been a stalwart in United Malays National Party politics since at least 1978. Although the rape charges were passed to Badawi's office in 2007 and were well known to top government officials, it appears they were never investigated. Certainly, the charges didn't stop Badawi from naming him foreign affairs minister in 2008, nor did they stop Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak from naming him information minister in 2009.

However, on July 27of 2007, Rais did abruptly pull out of the running to become Commonwealth Secretary-General after the end of the previous secretary's reign in March 2008. He cited the conflict of his duties serving on the committee planning the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Malaysia's freedom from British colonialism. The complaint making the rounds appears to have been filed on July 23.

The lack of investigation of the case also prevents Rais from protesting his innocence. At this stage, lack of evidence would probably make the case almost impossible to prosecute, since it would end up with just the maid's word against Rais's.

Malaysia's blogosphere has caught fire over the allegations although Rais wasn't named as the alleged rapist until this weekend. A three-page Indonesian police report giving details of the maid's service in his home – with his name blanked out – has been making the rounds of the Internet since the middle of December.

It's sickening to read Asia Sentinel's scandalous report on Datuk Seri Rais Yatim's alleged crime. Asia Sentinel's credibility is questionable and they have this cunning (also burning) desire to paint us black, but why are we putting ourselves in such a situation.

Datuk Seri Rais Yatim is no ordinary man, he is a senior Minister in the Government of the day and holds a very important portfolio. The crime allegations against him are not petty either, its about a heinous act of rape.

God knows if the Minister is innocent or guilty but in the meantime could we have some clarity or rather clarification or explanation or denial or ...?

By virtue of being the Minister of Information, Communications & Culture, I'm sure Datuk Seri Rais Yatim knows how to come clean ... if he wishes to.

Certainly this issue is not going to be sidelined by "Pitting bloggers against one another".

Asia Sentinel's HALF-TRUTHS.

Where is the TRUTH, Sir?

p/s Minister, maybe you could start by sacking the dumb advisor or advisors..

p/s2 Asia Sentinel is so dumb to report that this issue was leaked by Wikileaks.

Sulking Political Drama ?

The most refreshing news so far in 2011 is about Khairy Jamaluddin's decision to quit politics and "go back to school".

Theories are abound as to why the 'powerful" Son-In-Law of the fifth Prime Minister wants to get out of the ring. Some on the other hand think this is yet another political drama of Malaysia.

If its indeed true could the rookie first term Rembau MP be swimming along with the born-again liberals soon, the likes of RPK or Zaid Ibrahiim and some of their lawyer boys?

Well, with all honesty I hope Khairy has now truly realised the folly of his forceful parachuting into Umno and by extension national politics.

As cunning as politicians are, you can force or buy your way through but you can't stay there ... unless your are genuine.

Even the Prime Minister couldn't help you if the grassroots keep their distance.

With no real support from the ranks of Umno Youth and lack of grassroots support in Rembau, it was only a matter of time.

Chegubard's grassroots popularity has been haunting him too.

There is also talk that Khairy was sulking. ( Read Rocky's MERAJUK KER? )

But why is Khairy sulking, if he is? The recent appointment of Umno leaders at the state level could be a reason, the New Cabinet line-up could be another.

As I said earlier, theories are abound but at the moment I'm taking Khairy's "Going back to school' with a pinch of salt...a BIG pinch that is.

p/s Do they teach real politics in school? ( I know from personal experience that some ABIM-run kindergartens used to)
