STOP THE SLAUGHTER!

KUALA LUMPUR FOUNDATION TO CRIMINALISE WAR

Statement on the Israeli Invasion of Gaza

The Kuala Lumpur Foundation to Criminalise War is shocked and angered over the Israeli invasion of Gaza since Saturday 27 December 2008. Our hearts go to the people of Gaza in this time of great distress.

We call upon the international community to immediately act in concert to call upon Israel to stop the bombing of Gaza and the slaughter of innocent lives forthwith. We support the call by the United Nations for an immediate ceasefire and an end to all military operations to facilitate relief work and delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

The Foundation also calls upon the governments of the United States, Britain and other major powers to put necessary pressure on Tel Aviv to stop the inhuman slaughter of Palestinian men, women and children in Gaza with bombs and other weapons.

YES or NO ?

I think it's time for Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to stop their political drama and tell Malaysians, once and for all, their (PKR, PAS and DAP) collective stand on the implementation of Hudud in this country.

Pakatan Rakyat supremo Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should not be hiding behind his wife cum Keadilan president Datin Seri Wan Azizah when issues that really matter are being hotly debated.

Come on Saudaraaaaaa Anwar Ibrahiiiiim!!! Just tell us YES or NO?

We the loyal Malaysians who uphold the Constitution are keen to know what you’re really made of.

Some say you (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) are a chameleon that changes ‘color’ according to the audience.

So, come on Datuk Seri … prove your critics wrong and state your ONE & ONLY stance on HUDUD.

Will Pakatan Rakyat implement Hudud, if/when it comes to power … when you’re THE Prime Minister flanked by deputy PMs from both the DAP and PAS?

p/s By the way, where is Saudaraaaaaaaa Lim Kit Siang and the ‘toothless’ Lion of Jelutong ?

Game Over brothers?

STATESMAN says ...

Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohamad has been repeating these FACTS again and again but the world seems to be deaf!

It's about the ROOT CAUSES of TERRORISM !

"Everywhere I went I found among the ordinary people anger and hatred directed at the Jews, the Americans and the British. Their Governments are terrified by the British and the Americans. But their people are more and more bitter. There will be many who would be willing to blow themselves up even if they will not succeed in liberating their countries".

"Terror attacks will not diminish for as long as the Palestinians are forced to remain as refugees, are denied the right of return".

"America will have a new President soon. If the membership of his Cabinet and his staff are anything to go by, there is little that Obama can do, even if he wants to solve the Palestinian problem. All American Presidents and legislators are hostages of Israel. Fail to side with Israel and they will be defeated at the next elections.

"Terrorism" is going to be a part of the world scene for a very, very long time".

SLIMY AIRPORT?

Malaysiakini reported this - A new RM1.6 bil 'budget' airport

Malaysia has approved plans by budget carrier Air Asia and conglomerate Sime Darby to build a new low cost terminal within reach of the capital, according to media reports. -
HERE

Read all the SPIN HERE and HERE.

Since when are we supposed to build airports to spur economic growth during economic uncertainties? Some new 'economic stimulus' strategy I guess!

Blogger Anil says the Government owes us an explanation ... HERE.

NOW! Why are these two controversial corporate players inviting greater controversy by indulging in such 'mind boggling' dubious deals ... just three months before Abdullah Ahmad Badawi goes away for good?

We know who is hiding behind both Air Asia and Sime Darby, but WHY are these super-supporters of the Badawi regime behaving like a bunch of desperate robbers?

I thought the take-over bid of IJN was the height of their arrogance but it seems we are yet to witness their end game.

These corporate players lust for wealth and greed for billion ringgit projects defies logic, especially during the current political and economic circumstances, but they do not seem to bother about anything at all.

DO WE REALLY NEED A RM 1.6 BILLION low-cost AIRPORT when the Kuala Lumpur International Airport is yet to hit the roof in terms of passenger capacity?

WHY is it that we, the rakyat, seem to be the last to know about such earth-shattering deals?

All such shady and totally unwarranted deals should be STOPPED IMMEDIATELY and should only be reviewed after we are out of the current global financial crisis.

If Air Asia (read Tony Fernandez) is so arrogant and finds it too difficult to work with MAHB then maybe it would be worthwhile for MAS to acquire Air Asia and enhance our airline industry's efficiency by operating from KLIA.

The existing low-cost terminal could be turned into an exhibition centre (like Subang Airport) while the RM1.6 billion for 'another Tony Fernandes airport' could be put for better use.

p/s By the way ... I was told that both the Transport Ministry and its Minister were not in the know of the details of this RM1.6 billion airport robbery ... oooops, airport deal until a couple of days before the cabinet meeting. Is this true?

Pak Lah, do you know anything about this?

Heartless IJN ?

Someone is apparently planning to take the ‘heart’ away from the National Heart Institute (Institut Jantung NegaraIJN) and the Government, it seems, have agreed in principal for the ‘heartless’ corporate idea.

IJN’s background and details of the ‘heartless’ deal are spelled out here and here.

If these reports are indeed true and the Ministry of Finance has in fact agreed for a corporate entity to take away ‘the rakyat’s heart’ purely due to economic considerations, then what could come next?

Would the Abdullah Ahmad Badawi led administration also ‘give away’ all the Government-run hospitals nationwide?

I’m sure none of our Government hospitals are minting money at the expense of the rakyat but THAT could also be a valid reason to ‘give away’ our hospitals.

Would all our hospitals be privatised, the Ministry of Health reduced to just a Department of Health and each and every Malaysian be forced to dig their pockets for Health Insurance fees?

Would YOU be surprised if such 'heartless' corporate deals are inked before the end of March 2009 ... I'm sure I won't!

To Whom It May Concern … make sure your heart is in the right place before you remove the rakyat’s HEART for mere dollars and cents.

I wonder what our CABINET MEMBERS , and other WAKIL RAKYAT will have to say about such a ‘heartless’ deal that is rumored to have the blessing of our Islam Hadhari Prime Minister!

Betui kah ni Pak Lah?

Kalau tak betui ... STOP IT lah!

Najib's Fight!

Let our next Prime Minister fight it out.

Barisan Nasional has a better chance of retaining the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary seat if both Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his son-in-law Khairy Jamaluddin could shut-up and stay out of Terengganu.

BN deputy chairman and soon-to-be Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak should be allowed to lead BN’s election machinery without the detrimental hands (and mouth) of Abdullah and KJ.

Such are the views of BN component party leaders and several Umno supreme council members who are still looking for the acceptable method to convey the message to the out-going Prime Minister.

The maverick Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said and probable candidate Wan Farid, it seems, are among the long list of BN/Umno leaders who feel that Abdullah and his SIL are actually a BIG liability to the coalition.

We can’t blame them for their stance, for it was Khairy Jamaludin’s BIG MOUTH that ruined the little left chances for BN during the Permatang Pauh by-election.

His ‘we are here to bury Anwar Ibrahim’ not only buried BN, but also his big mouth and his father-in-law’s face.

So Pak Lah! Please stay out of Kuala Terengganu (keep your SIL with you) and let Datuk Najib handle this by-election.

Don’t sabotage Datuk Najib and the Barisan Nasional, again!

THINK

Comedian George Carlin’s viewpoint and the message that comes with it seem so appropriate.

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Highways, but narrower viewpoints.

We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time.

We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.

We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life.

We've added years to life not life to years.

We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbour.

We conquered outer space but not inner space.

We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.

We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice.

We write more, but learn less.

We plan more, but accomplish less.

We've learned to rush, but not to wait.

We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships.

These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes.

These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom.

A time when technology can bring this message to you, and you have a choice of either sharing this insight or just ignore it.

Just take a moment and THINK about it.

Wrong and Wrong.

The Mud Party Continues

There has been many wrongs in the past 24 hours or so but the biggest mistake seems to be in me being 'over-confident' that Umno president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi would lead the party Supreme Council into deciding on the General Assembly in December and not March 2009.

The reasons and rationale for an earlier date in December had been deliberated upon by every Tom, Dick and Harry but Pak Lah has obviously stuck to his 'personal plans' rather than taking into consideration the affairs of the country and us, the rakyat.

My earlier posting quoting highly placed sources in Putrajaya is clearly inaccurate or wrong BUT has the Umno Supreme Council done the RIGHT thing ... or are they totally WRONG in extending the duration for sabotage, mudslinging and dirty politics in the party?

You be the judge, jury and executor ... during the crucial General Assembly in March, if Umno survives for that long!

UMNO GENERAL ASSEMBLY in DECEMBER.

General Assembly in December, FULL STOP!

The Umno Supreme Council which meets at Menara Dato’ Onn PWTC on Friday is widely expected to stick to the original plan to have the party’s crucial General Assembly is December, instead of an earlier decision to postpone it till March, 2009.

Umno President Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, sources said, has agreed to bring forward the General Assembly and settle all party matters (election) before we, as a Nation, cross into the New Year.

Abdullah, it was reliably understood, has told his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak that the current unbridled political fever in the party would pose great risks to the Government’s effort to face the impending Economic Crisis.

“Pak Lah has agreed that the decision (to hold the Umno General Assembly in December and not March, 2009) would be in the BEST INTEREST OF Umno and The Country”

Abdullah, it was understood, has however requested to stay on as Prime Minister until March to enable him to complete his uncompleted Reforms.

“Whatever it is I think this is good news for Malaysia as our leaders have the interest of the rakyat and the country at heart and are not spinning around for their self interests alone’ – the highly placed party source said.

Obviously holding the General Assembly earlier is better, for Umno and the whole nation, as the Government could be more focused in ensuring our Survival rather than being engaged in never-ending mudslinging and unrestrained politics.

It’s an open secret and an undisputed fact now that Umno leaders holding Government posts are spending more time for politics then their greater role as Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Menteris Besar and so on.

I was a little skeptical when told that Pak Lah, on his own volition, has agreed to return to the original Umno general assembly schedule in December even though some of his close ‘friends’ think otherwise.

We Shall Just Wait For Pak Lah To Announce the Good News after the Supreme Council Meeting.

Thank You, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

ESPIONAGE or SABOTAGE?

Spying the SPY.

Datuk Bernad Francis is/was the General Manager of Network Revenue Management of our Malaysian Airlines. He also held/holds the influential post of route planning for the national carrier.

Route planning, according to industry sources, is one of the main nerve centers of the aviation business that could make a break a company.

But is this Datuk the same guy who used to be AirAsia’s senior manager of Purchasing and Distribution, and also the cheap airline’s former Route Manager?

If it is the same person, what is he doing in MAS then? Sitting in MAS’ engine room throwing spanners into the system?

Sources say a certain senior manager in MAS has been transferred to another department after his dubious moves that were detrimental to MAS’ business was uncovered by undercover investigators engaged by the top management.

Some say the guy was actually a mole for a competitor who had been planted in MAS, even before Datuk Seri Idris Jala came into the picture to resuscitate the Pride of Malaysia.

Another not-so-little-bird says he is also a close relative of the competitor’s CEO.

Can somebody tell me WHO THIS MOLE IS?

Is this Industrial Espionage or Sickening Sabotage?

I wonder if these allegations/claims are vicious lies or hidden truths, but my suspicion often trails desperate and overly ambitious human beings.

Say something Malaysia!

UPDATED!

Bernard Francis (now a Datuk) and Kaneswaran Avili are two ex-AirAsia DIRECTORS who joined MAS in January 2005.

Read TheEdge report HERE.

It appears as though the TWO AirAsia Directors were recruited by MAS’ new Managing Director Datuk Idris Jala whose appointment took effect on Dec 1, 2004 BUT sources say the duo were planted in the MD’s Office by ‘outsiders’ via higher authority.

They say maybe MAS Chairman Tan Sri Munir Majid may know a thing or two, about the planting and re-planting, since some trails were allegedly leading to his door.

I wonder what happened to Kaneswaran Avili's fate in MAS but the former AirAsia Director of Sales&Distribution is now in the good company of Tony Fernandez, Kalimullah and friends.

Kaneswaran is not onlt the Chief Operating Officer in Tune Money, but he is also a substantial share-holder.

Read it all HERE.

Is that our Datuk Bernard who is clickin away, flanked by a sultry stewardess from his left.

WATCH DA' MASTER

WATCH, LISTEN & THINK.

Statesman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be appearing on two television news programmes today, one over ASTRO AWANI and the other over BLOOMBERG TELEVISION.

Dr Mahathir will be appearing on Astro Awani’s LIVE discussion at 2100 hrs (9pm) tonight (28 Oct 2008). I believe the entire UMNO and Malaysians in general would wait for what Tun has to say about Umno Elections. Yes! The topic is UMNO ELECTIONS.

For an earlier dose of Dr.Mahathir, tune in to Bloomberg Television over ASTRO at 1300hrs (1pm) for Tun Dr Mahathir the Economist.

In this international programme, that would also be repeated at 2030hrs (8.30pm) and 2330hrs (11.30pm) tonight, The Doctor would ‘analyse’ the current local and global economics situations.

The United States of America’s USD700 BILLION BAIL-OUT, against all norm of the International Financial regime, would definitely be DELIBERATED.

I’m sure Tun has some good advice for those who once said that ‘Dr.Mahathir’s knowledge about economy could be written at the back of a postage stamp’.

Now who said that?

p/s Don’t miss these programmes, on Awani and Bloomberg, as I’m sure both are LOADED.
IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS FOR TUN DR.MAHATHIR please post them in the comments section. We will alert Astro Awani to evaluate your proposed questions on any topic, including the impending Economic Crisis.
THANK YOU.

THANK YOU.

TRULY Hard Earned MONEY.

The 2.1 Million REGISTERED foreign workers in Malaysia are expected to earn more than RM20 Billion this year, and at least RM18.1 Billion of that amount will be remitted to their country of origin.

A Bernama dispatch from Dewan Rakyat quoted Deputy Prime Minister / Finance Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak saying that up till last June, the foreigners have send home more than RM 9 Billion.

The 2.1 million REGISTERED foreign workers’ ACTUAL EARNINGS must definitely be much higher than the amount that is being remitted home.

Put your ears to the ground and information suggests that for every ONE Registered foreign worker, there could be TWO or more UNREGISTERED ones.

And for every ONE foreign worker who remits his earnings legally via recognized financial tools, FIVE or more are passing their earnings home through others means, via both traditional and ‘underground’ networks.

So, the REAL amount of money being sent out from Malaysia annually by foreign workers (both registered & unregistered) could be astronomical … what more their ACTUAL EARNINGS.

I’m sure by now tongues would be wagging, some with a big pinch of jealousy, wondering how these Indonesians’, Bangladeshi Bhaiyas’, Indians, Nepalis’, Burma boys and the Vietnamese could chart such figures.

Have you seen how they work? Have we not noticed how enterprising the Indonesian traders in Chow Kit and the Bhaiyas’ in Petaling Street are? Have you witnessed how hardy they are in our oil-palm plantations?

So, you want to blame them for making so much money or kick yourself real hard if you’re one of the unemployed Malaysians?

I was jolted when a TV talk-show host, while commenting on the Finance Minister’s statement in Dewan Rakyat, claimed that ‘there are many areas in Kuala Lumpur where local women are babysitting Indonesian children while their ‘foreign worker’ parents are minting money on Malaysian soil’.

My friends! If that is real, is it something which requires immediate attention from the highest level?

Are we supposed to initiate another round of the blame-game now and point fingers at each other, or should we accept the fact that they have become part and puzzle of our Life in Malaysia?

Among the foreign workers here the Indonesians form the majority (both registered & unregistered), and they are also our closest ‘family member’ in this region.

While we agree that some of our Indonesian brothers and sisters are criminals, they’re no different from those criminals among us.

A Big majority of them are simply HARDWORKING people who are actually sacrificing a great deal by contributing their share towards OUR nation building.

We actually owe them a BIG Thank You! In fact we should send each and every one of their High Commissions or Embassy here a 'Thank You' note.

p/s 1.Government could consider some ‘out-of-the-box’ initiatives to ensure more of their earnings in Ringgit Malaysia are accounted for and legally transmitted via recognized means.

2. Strict enforcement of the existing laws, including the Labor Law, could benefit the Government and the workers as an increasing number of employers are turning out to be Vampires. Strict enforcement would not only deter illegal immigrants but would also ensure a better working/living condition for the legal foreign workers.

3. Sometimes when I look at the condition of some foreign workers in plantations and construction sites, I wonder if this was how the British treated our fellow Malaysians of Chinese and Indian origin more than 50 years ago.

God Bless Malaysia!

GOTCHA !

Was in the midst of scrutinising some information pertaining AirAsia's upcoming 'magic shows' when an email pointed out the continuous flow of SLIME in SIME DARBY.
Looks like the bandits are trying to outdo one another, but this time for their own SURVIVAL.

"The Executive Vice-President of Sime Darby Berhad's Group Human Resource Mohamed Ishak Abdul Hamid, President and Group Chief Executive Dato' Seri Ahmad Zubir Murshid's hatchet man, is facing a three-year jail term. He allegedly failed to comply with a notice from Companies Commission of Malaysia to produce documents of investigations which led to the sacking of Group Financial Officer Razidan Ghazalli and Golden Jomalina's General Manager Muhammad Mohan Kittu Abdullah. Also charged for a similar offence but in a separate court was KPMG Corporate Services Sdn Bhd executive director Tan Kim Chuan." ..... read more HERE.

Sime Darby's super-spin master and media strategist Mr.Brendan P, I was told, had successfully prevented the Media Prima Group of companies from reporting/announcing the above CRIME.

Only The Star carried the report. Kudos Datuk Wong Chun Wai .... baru cun brader.

Wonder what happened to the online media hounds like MALAYSIAKINI, busy apologising to Najib in Parliament?

FOOD or FANTASY?

The world is staring at a Global Financial Crisis.

Some in the North, like the United States of America have been hit so bad financially that they have been forced to eat their words -lick the saliva which they spat out uncontrollably 10 years ago – and engage in a USD 700 billion bail-out of all denominations.

They dumped the so called Global benchmarks in the financial structure, abandoned religiously preached and guarded International Financial rules & regulations and discarded the entire financial structure which they imposed on others.

Currency traders and free-market Gurus are leaving America in droves before they’re identified as one of the main culprits and sent to jail.

The International Monetary Fund and World Bank bosses might be heading to their hideout in the Himalayas soon.

All that matters for a Super Power like the great United States of America now is their very SURVIVAL.

They won’t be able keep the Disintegrating States of America ‘United’ if Americans can’t put food on their table, if Americans actually can’t feed their family.

(Remember New Orleans, and how the Black Americans there were left to suffer for weeks. They are part of the disintegrating part of the States of America)

The USA is not only dead worried about the financial recovery at the macro level but also the micro level where Food, Clothing and Shelter to the millions of American citizens who are / will be effected by the worsening financial crisis.

Although President Bush has a reputation of his own, maybe his Government is moving in the right direction and is focused on the Economic Recovery.

Bush and the so-called Civil Society in the US and elsewhere in Europe are certainly not preaching about REFORMS, at this point of time.

They are certainly not talking about Human Rights, Independence of the Judiciary, an ACA with wings or Freedom of Expression.

They are indeed united in trying to avert a Major Depression.

NOW, let’s get back home and see WHAT the Prime Minister of Malaysia is talking about!

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi says he has some URGENT unfinished work which he had slept on for a couple of years.

But what is more URGENT now? Some REFORMS which none of the cabinet members could spell-out?

I wonder if we could spread members of the Free Independent Judiciary on our dining table and say out aloud ‘Dinner is Ready’!

No doubt those Human Rights and all his/her friends are vital in a civilized society as ours but I need Food, Clothing, Shelter and a Job before that … I need an assurance that My Government is doing something to cushion the impacts of the meltdown which is flowing down from the North, Don’t You?

p/s I hope and pray that our Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Najib would drive some sense into Abdullah and set his priorities right.

Malaysians need not suffer due to his arrogance or stupidity … whichever way you look at it.

WHO IS TUN?

Fuming Father-in-Law screams as Son-in-Law struggles.

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi spew out some real nasty words and phrases during his EMERGENCY mid-night press conference at the Kota Kinabalu airport on Saturday.

Those nasty words were specifically aimed at two individuals who, in his small mind, are the main persons involved in his expedited sacking from Umno and the Government.

His almost-hysterical attacks against Tun Dr.Mahathir were for the former Prime Minister / ex-Umno president’s suggestion that the next Government of Malaysia must be free from the same viruses that brought the present government down.

Among all the insults and bitter words hurled at Dr.Mahathir, Abdullah’s WHO IS TUN?, would have hit anyone straight in the heart.

The lonely Abdullah, with only a reluctant Musa Aman next to him, then trained his water-gun at Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, whom he blindly accused as someone who had orchestrated the Umno grassroots groundswell against him (Abdullah).

Indeed Abdullah stooped so low during the mid-night affair that he portrayed Muhyiddin as a traitor who was impatient to assume the Umno deputy president’s post.

The desperate Abdullah even tried in vain to brand Muhyiddin as being against reforms just because he was now suggesting for the party General Assembly to be held earlier and not in March.

But WHY is the usually lame Abdullah is so furious now, at the dying moments of his humiliating leadership?

Is he truly sad because he can’t carry out the fictitious reforms if he was kicked-out in December?

What are the reforms anyway, why can’t the next Government proceed with whatever that they are?

OR, is the Father-in-Law Fuming because Dr. Mahathir’s enlightening advice to Umno leaders and members would seal the door for his Son in-Law and his 4th floor goons?

It’s an open secret that Khairi and his brand of bandits are deemed, by a huge majority of Umno leaders and members, as a deadly cancer in party.

The sentiments against the 32-year old rookie are no different among the general Malaysian public.

Khairi, the parachuted deputy Umno Youth head who assumed the uncontested post in 2004, had been drilling hard planting his men into the Youth movement and Umno in general but the moment the Sleeping Father-in-Law was TOLD to leave and when a date was subsequently set, that marked THE END of Khairi as well.

That ‘boy’ as often described by Dr.Mahathir, is still struggling to garner enough nominations to contest the Youth Chief post, two weeks after the Divisional meetings started.

While Abdullah’s frustration is understandable, he should check his tongue before it rots in his mouth.

For your information, Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohamad is the Statesman who entrusted you to become the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Abdullah! Don't blame the world, for it is you who screwed yourself, Umno, BN and the entire country with your inept leadership. You squandered the trust placed on you by Dr.Mahathir and the entire Umno Supreme Council (pre-2004) and the Barisan Nasional.

Just take a look at yourself in the mirror now. The PROBLEM is YOU, and your arrogant son in law!

Wake Up Lah!

EAST, Another WEST or Just REST?

2nd BN Deputy Chairman! MCA or …

It is not wrong for the Malaysian Chinese Association leaders to thinks that the founding member of Alliance/Barisan Nasional deserves the Deputy Chairmanship in the 14-party coalition.

Retiring MCA Youth chief Datuk Liow Tiong Lai’s assertion that his party should be given a BIGGER role in the coalition is laudable.

He should have also demanded for a Greater RESPONSIBILITY to revitalize the coalition.

Maybe Liow also needs to be reminded of the fact that Barisan Nasional members of Parliament would be stepping into Parliament as members of the OPPOSITION if not for the 50-odd seats from Sabah and Sarawak.

The presence of UMNO in Sabah might make the collective number of seats delivered by local parties like SAPP, PBRS, PBS and LDP small, much smaller than the dismal performance of MCA nationwide, but the BN shouldn’t ignore SARAWAK.

BN Sabah, Umno included,
delivered 24 of the 25 parliamentary seats contested in the memorable March 8, 2008 12th General Election but the Sarawak Barisan Nasional single-handedly delivered 30 of the 31 parliamentary seats which were up for grab.

Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, Sarawak Chief Minister and BN chairman, held his four-party coalition together and steered the high-waves to deliver the crucial numbers that has kept BN afloat at the federal level.

The Sarawak BN is held sturdy by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu PBB, Sarawak United People’s Party SUPP, Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party SPDP and Parti Rakyat Sarawak PRS.

If indeed the proposal for a second BN chairmanship is deliberated by the BN supreme council, then the trusted leaders should weigh the contributions of each and every party and region accordingly.

Don’t forget their crucial performance on March 8.

Between MCA and the Sarawak BN led by Taib Mahmud, I think the latter stands a better chance.

THINK!

p/s Some say such self serving demands from MCA at a time when BN is undergoing tremendous pressure is unbecoming of a founding member, but others argue that is the Art of Survival. Either art or survival, I feel that STATUS QUO is still a better choice for all.

JUST JOKING JOKER?

Unsafe, police beat base at Chow Kit closed!

16/10/2008
KUALA LUMPUR, THURS: A police beat base at Jalan Haji Taib in the city was closed because its location was no longer suitable or safe, Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar.

The area was dirty, which could expose policemen on duty to infectious diseases as well as threats to their safety, he said in a written reply to Dr Lo Lo Mohamad Ghazali (PAS-Titiwangsa).

Syed Hamid said efforts were being made by the police to find a new location nearby to build a new beat base.

In her question, Lo’ Lo’ wanted to know actions taken by the government to address vice problems, including prostitution, at Jalan Haji Taib and Chow Kit.

She also wanted to know why the police beat base at Jalan Haji Taib was closed. - Bernama.

I hope the report from Parliament is not true, and is just ANOTHER of Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar's many JOKES.

BUT if the report is true then maybe its Defence Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's turn to pop another JOKE.

Pak Lah, maybe its time for a Military Beat Base in Chow Kit since the Home Minister thinks the street smack in the centre of Kuala Lumpur is not safe ... even for the POLICE.

More details HERE.

p/s Remember that if your life is threatened in any way, you could always seek protection under Syed Hamid's ISA.

Is this the same disgruntled politician who was sulking away somewhere in Australia when he was not chosen as a candidate in the March 8 elections, who later came into the Government through the BACKDOOR when Abdullah made him a Senator and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of 'Everything about Law' in this country?

Is this also the 'businessman cum lawyer cum politician' guy who bribed Abdullah, the Bar Council and part of the Judiciary by bribing a few judges who were sacked more than 20 years ago ?
(Some Cabinet members whispered that the total amount of the 'Bribery of the Highest Order' is more than TWO MILLION RINGGIT. Wonder why Malaysians are kept in the dark over the actual amount ... Dark Transparency is it?)

The same reformist who later found a way out via the ISA-opening when Abdullah was grasping for his last breath as Umno President ?

What is he actually?

Traitor, double-agent, merely a disgruntled & sulking politician, true-blue businessman, publicity crazy populist, a dedicated politician fighting for the rakyat, another of KJ's many lackeys or an opportunist who would sell his soul to the highest bidder?

Over The Limit La, AZALINA!

An Excellent Piece By Citizen Nades & His Disciple.

Poser over excessive staffing at Ministry - TheSun
by R. Nadeswaran and Terence Fernandez

PETALING JAYA (Oct 12, 2008): The tourism minister’s office has excess baggage. It’s over-staffed and the appointment of some 20 staff contravenes the Public Services Department (PSD)’s regulations limiting the appointments to only eight. It is also in defiance of a Treasury circular on cost-cutting and austerity.

The minister’s office has three special officers, five political officers, one research officer, six Information technology (IT) officers and five support staff.

The PSD allows a minister to have only one special officer, one senior private secretary or administrative and diplomatic officer, one private secretary or assistant administrative officer, one press secretary or information officer, three administrative assistants one general office assistant.

These details are contained in documents sighted by theSun which also highlight other discrepancies, such as:> the appointments were backdated to circumvent circulars from the PSD and the Treasury;> applicants being paid much more than they asked for;> multiple payment of salaries from different companies; and> absence of proper selection process as the posts were not advertised.

The correspondence between the ministry’s officers and minister’s private secretaries to heads of subsidiary companies of the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board expose a series of breaches of government rules and regulations.

In a letter dated April 23,the ministry’s deputy secretary-general Datuk Ab Ghaffar A. Tambi wrote to the then director-general of Tourism Malaysia Datuk Mirza Mohammad Taiyab, directing him to make arrangements to pay the salaries of 20 staff who on paper are attached to the minister’s office – ranging from special officers to administrative assistants. But subsequent letters are telling indeed with the appointments being back-dated.

As only the PSD can approve new appointments, the guidelines were circumvented by getting Tourism Malaysia subsidiary Pempena Sdn Bhd and its affiliates Malaysian Travel Business Sdn Bhd and SD Corp Communications Sdn Bhd to pay their salaries.

PSD Director-General Tan Sri Ismail Adam had on April 30 issued a circular emphasising the restriction of appointments in the offices of ministers and deputy ministers. Each designation is spelt out with a proper salary structure. Ministers can have eight and their deputies, four. The circular was effective March 19 -- a week after the new members of Cabinet took office.

Subsequently, on May 2, the Treasury issued a circular freezing new appointments as part of the government’s cost-cutting measures. But documents show that some appointments in the minister’s office were made after that date and backdated to April 1.

* On June 11, the minister's senior private secretary Mohd Daud Mohd Arif requested the chairman of Malaysian Travel Business Datuk Abdullah Ahmad to employ three persons as "administrative assistants" with salaries ranging from RM2,100 to RM3,000. Abdullah was asked to back-date their appointments to April 1.

* On May 12, the minister’s private secretary, Suziyana Natasya Abdullah, wrote to Pempena human resource officer Mariam Amy, attaching a list of 16 names and 17 Pempena employment application forms for "immediate action".

The appointments of several of these officers do not reflect details in their application forms. For example David Chiam Joy Woon "applied" for a job as "pegawai khas" (special officer) and put his expected salary as RM6,000.

However, in documents related to payment of his salary, he is being paid RM10,000 -- RM5,000 as executive director of SD Corp and another RM5,000 as a board member Malaysia My Destination (MYD) Sdn Bhd. He is also a board member of other affiliates and subsidaries, including Malaysian Travel Business and Awana London, Awana Beijing.

Similarly, former Malay Mail sports reporter, Tony Mariadass applied for a job as a "research officer" with an expected salary of RM8,000. He is listed so in the list of officers in the minister’s office, but has since been "appointed" general manager of Shopping Malaysia Secretariat (SSM) at a salary of RM10,700. Co-incidentally, both he and Chiam had previously worked for the same minister in the Youth and Sports Ministry.

Mohd Radzi Ramli applied for the post of pegawai politik (political secretary) with an expected salary of RM4,405 but also holds the post of senior executive (government liaison) at SSM, with a pay of RM3,000.

For the record, it now costs at least RM23,000 a month in salaries to four people, to run the SSM, not taking into account EPF payments; medical bills and other perks that come with the jobs.

Other appointments on the list of 16 whose names do not appear in the forms include Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, who is executive director of Pempena. She is paid RM10,000 and is provided with a car and driver.

THINK PINK!

SELAMATKAN WANITA UMNO.

Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, please don’t allow the WANITA which you have also sacrificed and toiled for to slide into self-destructive mode.

Should Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, the Iron Lady of Wanita Umno, follow the path of the RETIRING Umno President and Prime Minister?

Would it not be better for Wanita Umno, Umno in general and Barisan Nasional at large if Tan Sri Rafidah is magnanimous enough to reject nominations from the on-going party Divisional meetings and relinquish her post as Wanita Umno Chief at the party General Assembly in March?

Many are thinking aloud and talking louder, wondering why the Iron Lady wants to stay on until mid-2009 when even Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (whose initial exit plan was mid-2010) could leave earlier (March-2009) in the best interest of Malaysians.

Shouldn’t Tan Sri Rafidah, our Malaysian Madeleine Albright, sacrifice the THREE MONTHS and leave gracefully in March, instead of June or July?

What could you possibly do in the 90-odd days Tan Sri Rafidah?

Wouldn’t Wanita Umno leaders and members throughout the country have fewer headaches if you make it clear to them that Wanita Umno needs a new leader … something similar to Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s Oct 8 announcement?

Abdullah finally demonstrated the long awaited Leadership by Example (Kepimpinan Melalui Teladan) trait by leaving Umno to Datuk Seri Najib and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Don’t you, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, think you should do something similar and prevent Wanita Umno from breaking apart during the last few months of your long, memorable and illustrious leadership?

THINK! … and act now before some expired-Princess or princesses HIJACK your much guarded Wanita Umno and raise the level of Wanita skirts. They might even try to turn them PINK.

While Sharizat remains loyal to you and your leadership, she is facing tremendous pressure from within Wanita and threats traveling in high-end PINK CADILLACS.

p/s Wanita Umno is the strongest pillar of Umno, don’t hack it for short-term gains. A grassroots grandmother THINKS Sharizat Jalil & Halimah Siddique would make a good team.
